Oh, man. In light of that obvious danger, I think it's about time for me to buy a gun. You know, for home and personal protection. It's my constitutionally granted right to keep and use firearms to protect and defend my person and home and valuables. Because no damn government authority, or ANYONE else, is going to come into MY house and tell me a damn thing about what I do in MY house with MY guns. Wow. I'm already starting to sound like a gun nu—er, I mean enthusiast.
So. I looked into it. And, by looked into it, I mean a cursory search on the web. It turns out, all I have to do is meet some basic requirements, and I can own just about any kind of gun I can afford to purchase. These requirements vary by state, some restrictions apply, and not every state allows the ownership or sale of every type of available firearm.
Also, I was a bit concerned, as the recent spate of massacres committed with legally purchased firearms clearly shows, that those requirements don't address the mental capacity or aptitude of the person applying to acquire firearms. Nor, apparently, do they need to. Just ask one of your gun enthusiast friends opposed to gun control legislation, as i did, and they'll tell you, in fact, administering such an evaluation of an applicant's soundness of mind actually goes against the very spirit of the Second Amendment. How silly. Working from logic of that caliber, I was obviously concerned for no reason.
Good enough for me! On to the fun part! For starters, one is under no obligation to consider the intended use of a firearm before choosing one. Some caution is recommended for novice gun buyers, but, long as the payment clears, and the application gets filed properly, there aren't many rules about who can own which type of gun. Whew! Thank goodness for the free market!
- Model 460 XVR (XVR stands for Xtreme Velocity Revolver) is the highest velocity production revolver, while being the most powerful .45 caliber production revolver in the world, launching a 200 grain bullet at 2,330 feet per second, generating 2,400 ft-lbs of muzzle energy.
- Plus, its "gain-twist" rifled barrel means superb long range accuracy (beyond 200 yards) with every shot.
And, when it comes to American gun ownership protocol, I don't need to know any more. Those nefarious interlopers don't stand a chance. I feel much safer, already. Yippee kiyay, Mr. Falcon... bring-on the burglars and ATF agents.
